About Herefordshire Museum Service
Hereford Museum and Art Gallery is undergoing an exciting transformation to become a modern hub that both celebrates Herefordshire’s rich heritage and looks forward to the future. This redevelopment reflects the museum’s deep commitment to community, inclusivity, and sustainability, ensuring that the space serves as a welcoming environment for all visitors, while honouring its historical roots.
The Requirement
To complement the museum's ambitious redevelopment, Herefordshire County Council commissioned a new brand identity for the county-wide museum service. This project was structured into two key components: the first focused on the identity of the county-wide service, and the second was designed specifically for the individual museums within the city of Hereford.
The Solution
The branding process, led by One Voice Media, began with thorough research, including desk-based analysis and a series of stakeholder workshops and focus groups. These sessions involved museum staff, council representatives, and members of the local community, ensuring that the resulting strategy was both informed and inclusive.
The research insights helped shape a strategic framework for the museum service and were instrumental in developing a new visual identity system that reflects the museum’s vision for the future. By working closely with
stakeholders and understanding their needs and aspirations, the branding solution created a cohesive, forward-thinking identity that will serve as the foundation for the museum’s ongoing evolution.
